Derby is always a fast one and this time it was no exception. It was a pretty hot day so grip wasn't a problem but the dust was. Also, it was the first time I've ever had to put a bottle cage on my CX bike. Gridding was randomised so I was placed about halfway down the field which is always tough as that's where most of the chaos happens but I managed to pull back a few places. Ran of out steam towards the end as I was not quite yet used to the intensity. I'm looking forward to the next round in Westmorland which is usually a mudfest.
